The problem with most measuring sets is that the markings disappear. Printed sizes go through the dishwasher a few times and you are left guessing which cup is the half. Here the measures are stamped into the metal, so they last as long as the set does. The bowls are copper-finished with a warm rose tone, and the handles are solid acacia — the same timber as our boards and mills, with the grain running the length of the handle. The rims are flat and true, which matters more than it sounds: a levelled cup of flour against a rounded rim is the difference between a cake that rises and one that does not. They nest and stack, the spoons ride on a small ring, and because they look like something rather than like equipment, they can hang on a rail or sit in a crock in plain sight. Wash by hand and dry them — copper finish and wood both prefer that to a dishwasher cycle.
