Hanging a hand towel is a surprisingly annoying problem. A ring has to be drilled into the wall, an over-the-door hook only works if there is a door in the right place, and a radiator is usually on the wrong side of the room. This one avoids the question entirely: it stands on the counter next to the basin on a flat weighted base plate, and you drape the towel over the cross bar. Because the bar is open at both ends the towel hangs in a single layer and actually dries, instead of staying damp in a folded lump the way it does over a rail. It is made from 304 stainless steel, the grade that holds up next to water, and comes in brushed steel, matte black or brushed gold, so it can either disappear against the basin or read as a deliberate bit of hardware. It weighs enough to stay put when you grab the towel one-handed.
