Most wall decor is designed for a smooth painted interior wall and looks lost on anything rougher. These are the opposite: the palette is built to sit against brick, render and weathered timber, which is why they read so well on a garden wall or a fence panel where a muted print would disappear. Each gecko is cut from iron and then hand-painted, with mandala-style patterning worked across the back and legs in ochre, deep blue, coral and cream. Because the painting is done by hand, the two in your set will not match each other exactly, and neither will match anybody else's - that is the nature of the thing rather than a flaw. The tails curl in opposite directions, so hung at different heights they look like two animals moving across the same surface. Inside they work just as well in a hallway or a conservatory where you want a bit of colour rather than another neutral.
