Every house has something that should roll and does not: the storage box under the bed, the crate of tools in the shed, the bin that has to come out every time you open the cupboard. Screw-on castors mean drilling into something you would rather not drill into, and they only fit if the base is thick enough to take a screw. These stick on instead. Each one is a stainless steel ball in a low rounded housing, 1.4 cm tall, with an adhesive pad underneath — you clean the surface, press one into each corner, and leave it overnight before you load anything on. Because the ball swivels through a full circle they roll sideways as easily as forwards, which is what you want when you are pulling a box out of a tight cupboard. Twenty in a set is deliberately generous: that is five things on wheels, or four with spares.
