A pot handle is usually wasted space, and a lid left fully closed has nowhere for steam to go. This clip solves both problems with one piece of moulded silicone. Its branched arms flex open to grip handles of different widths and shapes, from a small saucepan to a wide soup pot, holding a spoon or spatula upright so it stops dripping onto the stove or counter between stirs. The same clip, turned to the rim, wedges the lid open just enough to let steam escape, which is what actually prevents a pot from boiling over; a fully sealed lid traps pressure until it pushes liquid out around the edges. The usual fix, leaning a spoon against the pot or propping the lid with a wooden spoon handle, works until the spoon slides into the sauce or the lid slips shut again. Food-grade silicone is used because it tolerates sustained stovetop heat without softening or transferring odour or taste, and its smooth, non-porous surface does not trap food residue the way a seam or hinge would. There are no moving parts to loosen or break. Rinse it under water or drop it in the dishwasher between uses.
