An empty wall is hard to fill without committing to one large object. Three small ones solve it differently: you place them yourself, in whatever spread the wall asks for, and you can adjust it later without patching a big hole. These are cut from sheet iron with the wings, tail feathers and a small flower motif punched through, so the wall colour shows through the bird rather than the shape reading as a flat black blob. Each of the three is a different size and caught in a different attitude - one climbing, one hovering, one banking - which is what makes a group look like movement instead of a set. The finish is matte black powder coat, so no glare under a downlight and no rust on a covered porch. They weigh very little, so a small hook or a strip of adhesive is enough; you are not drilling anchors into plaster for these.

The detail is punched through the metal, so the wall behind shows through the wings. Under raking light each bird throws its own shadow, which gives the group depth.
