A halved lemon holds more juice than most people get out of it. Twisting it on a reamer leaves a good third behind in the membrane, and squeezing by hand puts pips straight into whatever you are making. A lever press solves both at once: the long handles turn a light squeeze into enough pressure to invert the fruit skin completely, and the perforated bowl strains as it goes so nothing needs fishing out afterwards. The grooves cast into the bowl are the detail that matters in daily use — they bite into the cut face so the fruit does not slide sideways when the pressure builds, which is the moment cheaper presses spit juice over the worktop. At 21,8 cm long it gives real leverage without being awkward in a drawer, and the 6,2 cm bowl is sized for lemons and limes; a large orange will need halving and doing in two goes. It rinses under the tap in seconds.
