The 3 cm gap between slots is wide enough to take a thick end-grain board or a glass pot lid with its knob still on, which is the measurement most racks get wrong. Standing on edge, a wet board dries on both faces instead of sitting in a film of its own water. The frame is bent steel with a matte black powder coat - no plating to flake - and the whole thing occupies 15 by 14 cm of counter, roughly the space of a mug and its saucer.
